Steven Stinnett, C.HT

Steven Lee Stinnett, C.Ht. is a graduate of HMI School of Hypnosis. He has been sober for over thirty years, and he is a strong believer in the power of hypnosis to help people transform, overcome, achieve, and excel! He works with clients from all walks of life and all age ranges. Steven uses hypnotherapy and its related modalities, Guided Imagery, Time-line Therapy, EFT, and MER—to help people be better at anything, including getting sober, and staying sober.

Steven has seen that hypnosis and self-hypnosis play powerful roles in addiction and co-occurring disorders and can be equally effective in recovery. Individuals are creatures of habit and therefore, live in a world of interlocking habits and rituals. Frequently these habits and rituals are deeply rooted in negative, subconscious thoughts about the self and others. They are also further influenced by implicit or explicit messages that we receive within our environment while growing up. Over time they become reinforced by habits of negative self-talk, fear, and anxiety for which the mental health symptoms or the substance abuse becomes a “solution” of sorts. The use of hypnosis in treating metal health issues or substance abuse issues aims at creating, building, and supporting, new habits of thinking, therefore new ways of looking at the self, new, more positive feelings, and therefore healthier behavior patterns.
