Sonya Fulgham, MA, PsyD

Dr. Sonya Fulgham enjoys changing people’s lives by working with them to develop long-lasting and sustainable strategies for managing and overcoming feelings of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and low self-esteem since 2008. She holds a PsyD in Applied Clinical Psychology (awaiting conferment), a Masters in Marriage Family Therapy specializing in African America Studies, a Bachelors’ degree in Human Development, and two associate degrees in General Psychology and Psychology with emphasis on substance abuse. Sonya has been trained in a number of techniques, such as EFT, CBT, Sand-tray therapy, Music therapy, Seeking safety, DBT, Family Therapy, as well as Motivational Interviewing. Her vast experience in working closely with substance abuse and metal health disorders with various populations such as adults/young adults, the elderly, LGBTQQ, and survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence has been honed through volunteer work at the Jenesse Domestic violence Shelter and while working as a counsellor and case manager at the Safety Grounds Transitional Housing in LA. She has also served as a Mental Health Therapist at the South Central Training Consortium and as an alcohol and drug counselor at Healthright 360, Women and Men. Sonya now works as a Psychotherapist, collecting her hours toward her doctor’s license.
